  • On most routes, Economy fare tiers allow 20–35 kg, Business 40 kg and First 50 kg by total weight.
  • Flights to or from Africa or the Americas use a piece system: Economy includes one or two 23 kg pieces, while Business and First include two 32 kg pieces.
  • No piece may exceed 32 kg; maximum total dimensions are 158 cm on piece-system routes and 300 cm on other routes.
  • The displayed 30 kg is Economy Convenience on a weight-system route.

Overweight & excess baggage

  • Extra baggage is priced by piece between Qatar and Africa or the Americas, and by weight between Qatar and other destinations.
  • Online savings require purchase more than six hours before departure; from six to one hour, airport-rate pricing applies even through the website.
  • A piece cannot exceed 32 kg, and items above the route's maximum dimensions must travel as cargo.

Liquids in carry-on

Allowed

  • Liquids, gels, pastes and aerosols are limited to containers of 100 ml / 3.4 oz or less in cabin baggage.
  • They must fit comfortably in one transparent, resealable quart- or litre-sized bag no larger than 20 × 20 cm / 8 × 8 in.
  • Reasonable in-flight quantities of infant food or food for special dietary needs are permitted; medication exemptions have separate conditions.

Sports equipment can use the normal checked allowance when it stays within the applicable limits.

  • On Africa and Americas routes, a separately purchased sports piece costs USD 180 up to 23 kg or USD 250 from 23 to 32 kg and may measure up to 300 cm; other destinations use USD 150 / 200 / 250 bands up to 10 / 20 / 30 kg.
  • These advance rates require purchase at least six hours before departure, and item-specific packing rules still apply.

Musical instruments

An instrument may travel within the checked baggage allowance, with extra baggage purchased if its weight or dimensions exceed that allowance.

  • A fragile instrument can instead occupy a ticketed cabin seat: each seat supports up to 75 kg and 120 cm length, and one passenger may book at most three extra seats subject to the aircraft configuration.

Prohibited items in the cabin

  • Lithium-powered hoverboards and self-balancing scooters
  • Electroshock devices including stun guns and Tasers
  • Explosives, flammable materials, and fireworks
  • Smart luggage with a fixed lithium battery above the published low-capacity exception
  • Power banks above 100 Wh
  • Sharp items such as knives, scissors, and razor blades in cabin baggage
  • Qatar Airways permits at most two power banks per passenger, each no more than 100 Wh and carried in cabin baggage; charging a power bank during the flight is forbidden.
  • Spare batteries are cabin-only.
  • Smart luggage with a removable battery is accepted within the battery limits after removal, while most fixed lithium batteries are forbidden apart from the published very-low-capacity exception.
  • This selection is not exhaustive, and some dangerous goods require approval at least 72 hours before departure.
