Special baggage rules
Sports gear, instruments and baby equipment often have their own rules. Always check the airline before booking.
Golf equipment
Most airlines accept golf bags as checked baggage. Typical limits are around 23 kg. Wrap clubs well and remove loose accessories.
Ski & snowboard gear
Skis, boots and poles usually fly in a ski bag. Some airlines count one ski bag + one boot bag as one piece. Check exact dimensions.
Surfboards
Longboards often exceed standard length limits and require special sports equipment booking. Fees vary heavily.
Bicycles
Bikes must be packed in a protective box or bag, tires partially deflated. Many airlines charge a fixed sports fee.
Strollers & car seats
One collapsible stroller and one car seat are usually free. Gate-check is common. Check weight and folding size.
Musical instruments
Small instruments may count as hand luggage if they fit. Larger ones should be in a hard case as checked or cabin seat baggage.
Useful travel gear
Hardshell carry-on approved by most airlines
